What We Do in Our Community

Drop In Visits  

A couple of parishioners, weekly pop in visiting – not only our regular church people, but also the non attendees and other folk who in the past who have been associated with St Paul’-St Mark’s .

St Luke’s Friendship Lunch is an Outreach  in Castlecliff

to offer people  a time of fellowship over a low cost meal.  A few members of our Parish serve each Wednesday at the St Luke’s friendship meals (Check time for calendar purpose)

Living Well Seminar

is a monthly outreach to the community – a social gathering with a variety of interesting speakers who have entertained, informed and given helpful advice

Twinkle Toes

is a preschool music and movement outreach run on Friday mornings in the school term.  . 

MISSION/OUTREACH

Monthly Church services in rest homes

Teams take the service at Jane Winstone retirement village, Kowhainui Rest home, Okere house.

Marine Reach

Outreach to The poorer countries of the world. We support through donations of from our Sunday collection jar.

Hospital Chaplaincy Support

We support the chaplains at the hospital, from donations we received from our Bowl for collection on Sundays. And For one month a year, St Pauls-St Mark’s send volunteers for the Sundays in that month, to help at the Chapel to collect folk from the ward to attend the chapel service.

A few ladies provide the 5th Sunday morning tea. 

And have 2 of our members play the organ for chapel services.

City Mission Support

Each Sunday donations of food and grocery items are given in the financially per year

Zest for Mission Shop

Has volunteers working in the shop who help in a number of ways. Many church members donate their second hand goods to the shop.

Intercession   

A weekly prayer meeting which includes  Church prayers, and for outreach & mission the church is involved in.

The APW (Associated Presbyterian Women)

Meet every 2nd Tuesday at St Paul’s

APW has supported many projects through its fundraising endeavors.

Its members and other keen knitters, knit amazing garments to give out to community groups and for last couple of years have supported Angel Tree which provides Christmas presents for children of prisoners.
